How do you run a community cinema in Amsterdam?
Written by cathycentral on 24/05/2019
Matt from Cinema of the Dam’d shared the story of this two-year-old community cinema on Cathy’s Lunch LIVE radio show this week. As well as filling us in on their special screenings and film programmes for the summer, Matt also asked for help. Cinema of the Dam’d is crowdfunding to make their organisation more sustainable and enable them to show the DCP format that new films come out in. They explain it all on their Facebook post, here.

They’ve got a summer lovin’ series coming up, an ongoing Women’s Work programme of films directed by women, and don’t forget about the kids cartoons on Saturday mornings. Listen to find out more.
But as well as that, the full one-hour showed a few new music tracks and a heads up for some local events. Listen back to the full show here …
Thanks for lunch
And thanks to Matt for the delicious roasted squash, garlic, rosemary and blue cheese pizza from Bakhuys. Lekker! (CLL guests always bring lunch. Those are the rules.)
