Plans for a cable car across the IJ seem a bit closer, according to a report by Het Parool newspaper. The section between Amsterdam Noord and Minervahaven in Amsterdam West could be completed in 2025, after which the track could be extended further. The first section would have a length of 1500m and could transport up to 5500 people per hour in each direction, with a travel time of just over five minutes, at a height of 100 meters. However, the municipality still has to agree on the plans proposed by the IJbaan Foundation.
