In 2020 the Netherlands celebrates 75 years of freedom, following the end of the Second World War.
Freedom meal 2020 The ‘home’ edition
“Just because of the coronaa measures we can’t eat together doesn’t mean we can’t think together in a nice way on Liberation Day 2020. That’s why on May 5th we are going to eat the same meal together in the city of Amsterdam. For that we make the most humble, most heartwarming, most pretentious dish in everyone’s cookbook: soup. At our invitation, Michelin-chef Joris Bijdendijk RIJKS and Samuel Levie caught ‘the taste of the city’ in a Freedom meal soup. The special can of Freedom meal soup is designed by artist Piet Parra and the first 1.000 Amsterdam can now get the anniversary can now (free).”
