Louise Bourgeois is hailed as “one of the most famous and versatile artists of the twentieth century and for the first time a wide selection of her outdoor sculptures has been brought together for an exhibition in the gardens of Amsterdam’s Rijskmuseum.
On display: three of her world-famous Spiders, as wells as nine other works, including a few hanging from the great wingnut tree in the garden. These are high-gloss aluminium sculptures of Untitled (2004); these refer to “her father’s habit of storing chairs by hanging them on roof beams in the attic of their home.”
