• Amsterdam’s first pesticide-free garden centre, at Midwest @midwest020
• another great clock design installed at Schiphol airport, Lounge 1 (Departure’s 1), made by 1,000 of the airport staff with a 12-hour recording
• prep for 4 and 5 May events: stock up on white beans and make freedom soup, join your neighbourhood freedom meal
• Four nightclubs offer an unlimited month’s pass at a cheap rate to get people back into clubbing, see https://www.nachtpas.nl to get on the waitlist.
• primary school kids are getting better at maths and reading , this and more on schools progress and challenges in the recently published ‘‘Staat van het Amsterdamse funderend onderwijs 2026’.
• road deaths went up last  year, despite the introduction of a 30 km/h speed limit in the city
• from May there will no longer be a shuttle bus for residents on the MS Galaxy, which is 40 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop – apparently this was decided to encourage self reliance.
